Current U.S. Stripe assumptions
Stripe charges the payment method rate on the full amount processed. The balance after fee still contains collected tax; the next result removes that tax liability.
- Online domestic cards use 2.9% plus $0.30 per successful transaction.
- Manually entered cards add 0.5%; international cards add 1.5%, and currency conversion can add another 1%.
- Terminal domestic cards use 2.7% plus $0.05; ACH Direct Debit uses 0.8% capped at $5.
- Rates are standard U.S. pricing. Negotiated and country-specific pricing can differ.
