Calculate StockX fees and profit

StockX Verified Marketplace sellers currently pay two standard charges: a transaction fee based on Seller Level and a 3% payment processing fee. The transaction rate starts at 9% for Level 1 and falls to 7% at Level 5. StockX says the transaction fee is calculated on the final sale price. Its current U.S. minimum seller fee is $5.

StockX now also describes a Listings Marketplace for used and unique items. At launch, selected Listings sellers pay no standard selling, processing, or shipping fee. That is a different selling path, not a discount that every seller can choose. This guide and the matching calculator keep Verified Marketplace and Listings Marketplace separate. Rates and program terms were reviewed against StockX's official Help Center on August 8, 2026.

What are the current StockX seller fees?

For a normal Verified Marketplace sale, add the Seller Level transaction fee and the 3% payment processing fee. The level rates are 9% at Level 1, 8.5% at Level 2, 8% at Level 3, 7.5% at Level 4, and 7% at Level 5. A Level 1 seller therefore has a combined percentage cost of 12% when the percentage transaction fee is above the regional minimum. A Level 5 seller has a combined percentage cost of 10% under the same condition.

The U.S. minimum seller fee matters on low-price sales. StockX lists the minimum but does not separately explain its interaction with processing on the cited page. This calculator transparently applies $5 as the minimum transaction charge, then adds 3% processing. StockX lists other minimums for supported currencies, including C$7 in Canada, €5 in the European Union, £4.50 in Great Britain, A$7.50 in Australia, and ¥800 in Japan. Use the amount and currency shown in your account when selling outside the United States.

How do StockX Seller Levels work?

StockX determines Seller Level from completed sales during a calendar quarter. Level 1 has no threshold. Level 2 requires 12 completed sales or $1,500 in sales. Level 3 requires 40 sales or $5,000. Level 4 requires 200 sales or $25,000. Level 5 requires 800 sales or $100,000. Meeting either the count or dollar threshold is enough for Levels 2 through 5.

The company evaluates progress continuously. Once a seller reaches a level, StockX says the benefits apply immediately and remain for the current quarter and the following quarter. Activity resets for measurement at the end of each calendar quarter. Sales on both Verified Marketplace and Listings Marketplace count toward level progress, even though Listings sales currently have no standard seller fee. The rate shown in the StockX account is the final authority for an individual sale.

How does the StockX fee calculator estimate payout and profit?

Start with the item's final sale price. For Verified Marketplace, multiply that price by the selected Seller Level rate. Compare the result with the U.S. $5 minimum and use the larger transaction fee. Next, multiply final sale price by 3% for processing. Subtract both charges from item proceeds to estimate net payout. Profit is a different number: subtract item cost, seller-paid shipping, packaging, and any other entered cost from net payout.

The calculator does not add buyer-paid shipping or buyer-paid sales tax to StockX's stated fee base because the official seller-fee page says the transaction fee uses final sale price. Buyer charges are not seller revenue. Seller shipping is also not a percentage fee, so enter the amount StockX shows or your real shipping expense in the seller shipping cost field. This makes the output useful without pretending that one shipping amount applies to every item, route, or fulfillment method.

What does a $100 StockX sale pay out?

Consider a $100 Verified Marketplace sale by a Level 1 U.S. seller. The 9% transaction fee is $9. The 3% processing fee is $3. Total standard fees are $12, leaving an $88 net payout before seller shipping or payout-method charges. If the item cost $55, seller shipping is $5, and packaging is $1, estimated profit is $27. That profit is not the same as the $88 payout because payout does not account for the seller's inventory and fulfillment costs.

At Level 5, the same $100 sale produces a $7 transaction fee and $3 processing fee. Standard fees total $10, leaving a $90 net payout. With the same $61 of inventory and fulfillment costs, estimated profit is $29. The two-point transaction-rate difference improves this example by $2. The calculator shows the comparison directly and can solve for the minimum cent-level sale price needed to reach a chosen target profit.

When does the $5 minimum seller fee matter?

The minimum changes low-price Verified Marketplace calculations. At Level 1, 9% reaches $5 at about $55.56. A $40 sale would produce only $3.60 from the percentage formula, so the $5 minimum controls. Processing is still 3% of $40, or $1.20. Total modeled fees are $6.20 and payout is $33.80 before seller costs.

The crossover depends on the Seller Level. At Level 5, a 7% transaction rate does not reach $5 until about $71.43. A $60 Level 5 sale therefore uses the $5 minimum rather than a $4.20 percentage fee. The processing fee is $1.80, total fees are $6.80, and modeled payout is $53.20. This discontinuity is why a simple combined-rate shortcut can be wrong on lower-priced items.

Does StockX charge seller shipping or Flex fees?

Shipping and fulfillment costs depend on the route and seller program. StockX announced that, starting March 1, 2026, standard non-Flex shipping for U.S. sellers increased from $4 to $5 while non-U.S. shipping remained unchanged. The same update removed the separate $5 Flex fulfillment fee and adjusted Flex transaction fees. Because shipping and account availability can vary, the calculator asks for seller shipping as an editable cost instead of embedding it in the percentage-fee formula.

Flex inventory can also create storage charges, and StockX directs sellers to its Flex policy for those details. Those costs depend on inventory conditions and timing, so they are outside the standard preset. Add a known storage, handling, or other charge to packaging and other costs. Keeping these charges outside the transaction fee prevents a fulfillment expense from being mislabeled as marketplace commission.

Are StockX Listings Marketplace sales really fee-free?

StockX's current seller-fee page says Listings Marketplace sellers pay no standard selling, processing, or shipping fees at launch. Buyers cover processing, shipping, and optional verification. Sellers keep the sale price unless an issue triggers a penalty or return-related charge. The calculator includes a Listings preset with zero standard seller fees to represent that published policy.

Listings is available only to select sellers, so it should not be used as a forecast for a normal Verified Marketplace sale unless the seller actually has access and the item qualifies. The zero-fee policy may also change after launch. Confirm the marketplace named in the listing flow and review the checkout details before relying on an estimate.

What other StockX charges can reduce payout?

A seller may face charges beyond the standard marketplace fees. StockX says a U.S. Visa or Mastercard debit payout costs 2%, with a $1.95 minimum and $9.95 maximum. PayPal, Venmo, and StockX Balance currently have no StockX-imposed payout transaction fee, while some bank transfers may carry a charge. Currency conversion uses the rate set by StockX's bank service provider and can change with the market.

Cancellation, return, storage, and penalty charges are situation-specific. StockX warns that sellers who cannot complete a sale may be charged or restricted, and poor fulfillment can affect program benefits. The calculator does not predict conduct-related fees. Add any disclosed charge as an other cost and treat the StockX sale confirmation and payout screen as the authoritative final statement.

How should sellers use a StockX payout estimate?

Use the estimate before accepting a Bid or setting an Ask. Enter the expected final sale price, select the Seller Level shown in the account, and add the item's actual acquisition cost. Include seller shipping, packaging, and known payout costs. The result then separates StockX fees, payout, total costs, profit, margin, and return on cost.

For target pricing, enter the profit you want rather than guessing at a markup. The solver tests whole cents and accounts for the $5 minimum. Recheck the estimate whenever your Seller Level, marketplace, country, payout method, or fulfillment route changes. This is an independent planning tool, not a StockX quote or endorsement.
